A race in which the winner is whoever arrives in thirty-eighth place, riding bicycles with strange elliptical wheels by regulation, on the paths of a planet of molten metal. There are things that don’t exist until you have the courage to imagine them.
Rampage Innova goes beyond logic: it challenges the imagination to question the paradigm, to take the next evolutionary step. Impossible to understand using current criterions. It is simply something different, never seen before, the progenitor of a new species. It will not be enough to press your elbow against the seat to test the cushioning. You need the weight of a body and speed. The best way is to experience it in its natural habitat.
Years of development in cooperation with the Soudal Lee Cougan Team, Gallo Moto and Leonardo Paez, the champion on which it was designed. Lee Cougan brought out the best of his repertoire to create Rampage Innova. Years of research, of trial and error, of tests on every terrain to trace their own path, to give life to something new and never seen. The result is a bike that performs in all situations, a concentrate of technology and production know-how enclosed in just over 9 kg – of which just 1300gr of frame.
The lightness of the carbon and the structural suspension solution allowed Lee Cougan to keep the weight of the Innova extremely low.
The torsional rigidity of the frame allows you to transfer all the pedaling power to the ground, without dispersion for unique and efficient power transfer.
The structural suspension gives comfort and handling, as well as stability and traction on the steepest slopes.
What if instead of adding a shock absorber to the frame, you make the frame itself shock absorbing? The form will no longer be a support for functional elements, but it will also become functional.
Rampage Innova’s frame is designed to take advantage of the flexibility of carbon to act as a shock absorber. It is the chainstays, which have been given a tapered shape, that allow flexion by responding to the stresses of the wheel. The result is a structural suspension with oil pistons for adjustment, with a travel of 30 mm, which gives a unique combination of vertical flection and torsional rigidity. The pistons and the geometry of the frame create a system that discharges energy to the ground, reducing dispersions during the thrust phase. The structural suspension replaces the traditional shock absorber, eliminating its weight.
Patent pending.
The renowned Roman suspension tuner worked on the development of the hydraulic system. The pistons, which act as an adjustment to the structural suspension system, are sealed exclusively by Gallo Moto, which takes care of the customization.
With Rampage Innova, Lee Cougan official dealers will be able to request Gallo Moto customization for their customers. Once the pistons have been removed, they will be sent to the technician who will contact the customer to create the tailor-made setup, offering a professional service of the highest level.
Rampage Innova uses the latest technologies developed by Lee Cougan. As in an ecosystem, every single component contributes to a complex system. It is not just the new Innova Structural Suspension system, Rampage Innova is a concentrate of technology devoted to performance and riding pleasure
Rampage Innova uses Lee Cougan Air technology, a carbon shaping technique that allows for a construction optimized for size and weight. The rear triangle is thinned in the ‘chain stay’ area to allow the carbon to flex vertically giving 30 mm of travel to the wheel.
Air Technology uses an extremely high pressure in the forming phase, in order to eliminate the imperfections produced by the formation of air bubbles, and the use of 1k, 3k fibers and unidirectional fibers in order to make the structure more compact. The result: stronger frames, more reliable and resistant carbon fibers, but, at the same time, lighter than frames that use the traditional construction methods.
