One of the most successful sportsmen in his discipline, an athlete who never stops winning trophies and delivering emotions. But he is also a man of profound humility and respect, capable of forging strong bonds with his team and everyone he has met throughout his career.

This rare synergy between Leo, the Soudal LC team, and us at Lee Cougan has led to incredible achievements and satisfactions, the result of years of hard work and sacrifices.

Héctor Leonardo Páez León. Born on July 10th, 1982, in Ciénaga (department of Boyacá), he is a Colombian cyclist specialized in cross-country mountain biking. A specialist in long distances, Leonardo Páez boasts an impressive palmares: XCM World Champion in 2019 and 2020, 8-time winner of the Hero Sella Ronda, 5-time winner of the Dolomiti Superbike, and 7-time National Champion. Since January 2022, he has been an athlete of the Soudal Lee Cougan International Team.

The need to celebrate the consecration of a champion and underline an incredible career arose spontaneously. Thus, a livery dedicated to Leonardo Páez León became an integral part of the colors on the top models he is closely associated with and helped develop: Crossfire 428 and Rampage Innova.

The lion, his symbol and a direct reference to León takes center stage. Additionally, the colors of the Colombian flag – yellow, blue, and red – showcase the deep bond he holds with his native land.

What better occasion to unveil the livery than at the recent World Cup race held in Glasgow? The first appearance could only be in Paez’s habitat, where the magic of a champion comes to life. From today onward, the champion is even more in sync with the mountain bikes he rides.
